Madie Weir
NCIDQ, Allied ASID, Provisional BIID, LEED Green Associate
Madie is the co-owner and design principal of deClare Interiors. She grew up in Naples, FL, and fell in love with the Gulf side charm of the town. There was no better place to open the firm than a town with such possibilities.
She went to school for Interior Design at the University of Alabama where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She is NCIDQ Certified, LEED Green Certified, as well as a member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID). She has had a passion for design all her life, to make everything she can beautiful.
Madie loves to travel and gains inspiration from all the places she has visited. She has interests in all styles. She follows trend forecasting and makes sure she knows what will be the next big thing, as well as knowing what will be timeless.
She also has a love for fashion. She finds inspiration from clothing design and through the fluid movement, textures, patterns, and bold combinations.
Susan Weir
Susan is the co-owner and design principal of deClare Interiors. She is from Villanova, Pennsylvania where she was a licensed real estate agent and collaborated with her husband to design, build and sell homes in the suburbs of Main Line Philadelphia and Ocean City, New Jersey.
Susan and her husband relocated to Naples to expand their opportunities to design and build single-family homes. She obtained her Florida real estate license and has worked with her husband on many residential projects. She attended the Penland School of Arts for metalworking several years ago and continues to expand her knowledge of metals for jewelry and home accessories.
Susan is inspired by nature and fine workmanship found in old, handmade hardware and woodwork. Gems, antique European bells, hinges, sculptures, even doorknobs have inspired her. Taking old objects, metals and stones from the earth and turning them into home and human embellishments is a passion. To her, beauty is in the details and she strives to bring these qualities to every project by connecting with the skilled artisans necessary to make it happen.
Aleks Aboulhosn
Aleks is a Junior Designer at deClare Interiors. Born in a small town in Far Eastern Russia, she was a complete stranger to the world of design and architecture. When she moved to the United States at age 10, she fell deeply in love with her surroundings and discovered a great appreciation for interior design.
Upon graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, she began her professional career as a Kitchen and Bath Designer in Washington, DC. Ultimately, her love for southern hospitality drew her to Naples, Florida. As a designer, she is dedicated to creating beautiful spaces that balance both form and function.
When not in the office, Aleks enjoys quality time with her friends, husband and their six-year-old Border Collie, Richie.
